Emotional Intelligence - Applications of Free Sample Dissertations!

Recent trends in educational show that we are gradually moving towards a complete acceptance of the idea of emotional intelligence. This is evident in today's school curriculum where students are given activities which encourage them to interact with one another on a personal level. The theories of emotional intelligence tell us that when people start interacting with each other comfortably, they are more successful in their endeavors. This shows us that emotion is an important as intellect in the work place and in schools as well.

Schools continue to remain the mentors of personalities in human beings. It is at school that our personalities take their initial shape, right secondary to home. Schools today are working towards involving emotional intelligence into their practices but we are still milestones away from the day that emotional intelligence will be given equal importance to IQ levels at schools, and the mentors of this philosophy wait for that day with patience.

While many educationists still wonder on the good of involving emotive teachings in the school curriculum, there are others who are convinced that dealing with emotions in school on a regular basis will not only help them teach the students better but will also be instrumental in forming better personalities in their students.

The idea of teaching emotional intelligence in schools is a relatively new one, so educationists who do want to involve this in the school curriculum are sometimes at a loss of materials to work with. The internet can help here, as it is an almost infinite source of information. You can find a lot of psychology writing on the internet, which is free for all to download and read at leisure. Still , there are many institutions that are yet to recognize that involving EQ in schools will make better learners out of their students.

A good place to look for information on emotional intelligence is the dissertations on the subject written by psychologists around the globe. You could find many such writings published over the internet. While using the writing to publish your own material is a definite no-no, you could learn a lot about structuring your own EQ courses keeping them in mind. Maybe you could involve the authors and give them due credit where needed. No doubt any eager masters' student who has published on the topic will be eager to help put their learning into practice in an educational institution.

There remains no doubt that emotional intelligence and the ideas behind it are here to stay. We will soon see more and more schools incorporating it in the class rooms. People who have written dissertation samples on the subject could provide valuable insight into the subject to educationists.

The investigator chooses certain items from the whole data and studies them only. To choose or leave an item for the purpose of study depends entirely upon the wishes of an investigator and he will choose those items or units in his judgments as are representative of the whole data.

There are other methods of sampling also. The next step is the collection of information. The sources of information may be classified into primary sources and secondary sources. Primary sources include the actual information received from the individuals directly concerned with the problem of study. What is a Thesis or Dissertation and a Thesis Statement- Download Sample Thesis

What is a thesis or a dissertation?

A thesis or a dissertation sample declares what you believe and what you intend to prove. A good thesis statement makes the difference between a thoughtful research project and a simple retelling of facts. A good tentative thesis will help you focus your search for information. But don't rush! You must do a lot of background reading before you know enough about a subject to identify key or essential questions. because in case if you do not know the subject well then you will not be able to do any type of research in it. You may not know how you stand on an issue until you have examined the evidence. You will likely begin your research work with a working, preliminary or tentative thesis which you will continue to refine until you are certain of where the evidence leads.

The thesis statement is typically located at the end of your opening paragraph. (The opening paragraph serves to set the context for the thesis.)

Attributes of a good thesis:

  • It should be contestable, proposing an arguable point with which people could reasonably disagree. A strong thesis is provocative; it takes a stand and justifies the discussion you will present. If you do not make your thesis arguable then it will not lead to another thesis which is expected. A thesis should be leading to another one.

  • It tackles a subject that could be adequately covered in the format of the project assigned.

  • It is specific and focused. A strong thesis proves a point without discussing anything beyond that subject.

  • It clearly asserts your own conclusion based on evidence.

  • It provides the reader with a map to guide him/her through your work. The reader must know how did you work and collect the data using which methods.

  • It anticipates and refutes the counter-arguments

  • It avoids vague language (like "it seems").

  • It avoids the first person. ("I believe," "In my opinion")

  • It should pass the following tests.

How do you know if you've got a solid tentative thesis? Try these tests:

  • Does the thesis inspire a reasonable reader to ask, "How?" or Why?"

  • Would a reasonable reader NOT respond with "Duh!" or "So what?" or "Gee, no kidding!" or "Who cares?"

  • Does the thesis avoid general phrasing and/or sweeping words such as "all" or "none" or "every"?

  • Does the thesis lead the reader toward the topic sentences (the subtopics needed to prove the thesis)?

  • Can the thesis be adequately developed in the required length of the paper or project?

If you cannot answer "YES" to these questions, Then you need to make some changes in your Thesis. .Visit www.ukdissertations.net to download sample thesis and dissertations of each and every subject.

Yellow Pages Advertising Design: Choose Your Expert With Eyes Wide Open!

Even with today's technology, it's nearly impossible to construct a persuasive, phone-ringing Yellow Pages advertisement in under 30 minutes. Where did I get thirty minutes from? In 1975, my first gig was designing Yellow Page ads for a large national Yellow Pages publisher. I considered it my "dream job." Our tight-knit group of creatives would dole out dozens of Yellow Page ads per day, every day. We did our best to make each ad a selling masterpiece BUT we did have a daily quota of 10-15 ads to contend with…Arrange time for breaks, paperwork, etc. and that rate works out to about 30 minutes per ad.

OK, so it takes more than 30 minutes, but why worry about Yellow Page ads?
Even as "online local search" continues to grow at a rapid clip, today's print Yellow Page directories represent a not-too-shabby $14 billion a year industry, and has morphed into a broader medium that includes BOTH print and online capabilities. In fact, directional media (Yellow Pages, online local search and classified advertising) is expected to top $119 billion by 2010. For all of this, print Yellow Pages are still what they have always been, a very effective means of generating telephone calls and revenue from your most important local prospects.

So if the Yellow Pages designers can’t always produce great ads, who can?
My two year stint working for a Yellow Pages publisher taught me a great deal about ad design and Yellow Pages advertising. But despite a promotion to Art Director status, I soon left the Yellow Pages to start my own graphic design company...

After twenty years of running a successful design studio and servicing Fortune 500 members, the corporate advertising world had become stale and left me underwhelmed. I decided to re-visit the Yellow Pages industry and created a niche service that, at the time, practically didn't exist: "The Yellow Page Ad Design Specialist." By improving the message and visual impact in my clients’ Yellow Page ads, I was able to unleash the incredible potential of the medium. Over the last decade, my clients and I have enjoyed phenomenal success, and my niche market has spawned many competitors.

How can you outmaneuver and outsell your Yellow Page competitors?
While designing phenomenal Yellow Page ads takes more than a few tips – it takes real design talent, advertising experience, and expertise in the dynamics of Yellow Page advertising – the very best guidelines for Do-It-Yourselfers can be found in "Effective Yellow Pages Advertising for Lawyers" written by the late Kerry Randall. It was written for attorneys but its' principles apply to any business appearing in the Yellow Pages. After exhaustive analysis, Kerry determined that nearly all effective, call-generating Yellow Page ads include six key elements. He taught that all high-performance Yellow Page ads should contain:

Strong headlines that command attention and engage readers
A laser-sharp focus; a willingness to ignore most readers
Arresting, eye-captivating illustrations or photographs
Clearly identifiable differences ( from competitive advertisers)
Relevant copy (text) that covers less than 50% of the ad space
Professional-looking, clutter-free layouts

I've developed and been preaching very similar principles to my Yellow Page clients for a decade so I wasn't overly surprised when Mr. Randall emailed me kudos for our Yellow Page advertising efforts. Kerry's recent passing was a big loss for the industry but he left behind a sparkling gem of a book that will continue to help countless Yellow Page advertisers. Whether you're determined to create your very own Yellow Page ad or looking to hire an independent designer, Kerry’s masterful dissertation is an invaluable guide.

And you’ll need a guide in picking out an effective designer. Remember, every industry has it’s share of sneaky imposters. It only takes about $20 a month to hang out your electronic shingle these days and some Yellow Page ad “professionals” lack even a formal advertising design background, let alone a solid, direct-response experience, or a successful track-record for their clients.

Scrutinize prospective designer’s Yellow Page ad dissertation samples in light of these 6 principles. Make sure that the ads clearly and honestly speak to the prospects’ emotional needs and effectively persuade prospects by presenting the very best solution to their specific problem. Also verify that the Yellow Page design specialist you choose has a solid direct-response background and a successful track-record for their clients.

Otherwise, you'd be better off doing a little reading and create your own persuasive Yellow Pages advertisement. One that will deliver "off-the-hook" phone calls for you, 365 days a year! If you stumble along the way or you need a few pointers, let me know if I can help.

Searching for a sample thesis is not an easy task. So many websites are there which provide information on making a thesis or dissertation but do not provide any sample of a thesis. There are some other websites which provide you sample thesis to download but do not provide any information on how to make good thesis.

A very rare websites are there which provide you the both – the information on making good thesis and also a sample thesis is one of those websites). but sometimes the thesis which we have downloaded as a sample does not work like a sample thesis. The reasons are like the following:

  1. You have not visited the appropriate website.

  2. You have paid a lot like $35-$40 for a sample thesis and it was worth only $6-$10. The most appropriate price of a sample thesis is the minimum like $6-$10 because sometimes the sample thesis is not according to our expectation so we would not regret on the wastage of our money.

  3. You have chosen a website which is having a poor grammar and spellings mistakes that means that is a very unprofessional website so that the sample thesis will also be.

  4. You did not collect any information about chapters in a thesis and you downloaded a sample thesis. So first of all you should be having knowledge about parts of a thesis and chapters in it and thereafter you should download it. (Complete information about everything about a thesis

Want to Write a Great Dissertation Sample? Get Influenced!

Who said you have to be totally original to write a great university dissertation. If you were that good, you’d be the professor, not the student. So a certain level of amateur content is permitted. Just don’t copy a sample essay word-for-word. That’s a guarantee of doom. Read the sample dissertation, understand what it says, and then promptly forget what’s written.

Seeing a sample essay is very helpful for any essay writer. Ask your friends and seniors for a sample dissertation that was well-appreciated. In fact it won’t hurt even asking your professor as long as the topic of the sample dissertation you ask for is not the same as your essay.

When you get a good sample dissertation, observe its style. Check how it’s written, how the topics are organized, how it is structured, the type of words used. Your aim is to identify all the positive things about the sample essay so that you can incorporate the same positive qualities in your essay too.

Also try to look for flaws that make the sample essay weak and should be avoided in your writing. It’s easier to find flaws in someone else’s writing than your own and if you learn to spot all the common mistakes with the help of the sample dissertation, you won’t make the same mistakes yourself.

So it’s a good idea asking for a sample dissertation that was very well received, and a sample essay that was considered a failure. The good one will tell you what to do, and the bad one will tell you what not to do. Armed with this twin knowledge, you will know exactly how to prepare your own dissertation.

The last thing you need to remember is: never copy the sample dissertation that somebody else has handed over. These are the days of copyscape and tech-savvy professors. If your dissertation is copied from a sample essay, the professor might find out and then you could get a very bad grade. Try to put in your original thoughts even if you’re not very confident.

You can also employ outside help in honing the dissertation, getting it edited and verifying that the concepts explained in it are all original. Use the sample dissertation for style, not for content. Plagiarism is like using an axe on your own foot. In fact stop looking at the sample essay when you start writing your own dissertation. Otherwise you might get influenced at the subconscious level and make the mistake of copying something.

Then in this section you will the give the intro about the meaning of inflation and the meaning of life style, habits, earning of money and the causes of inflation etc. the demerits of inflation etc. can also be written in this section. DO NOT insert the information about the area, scope and the limitations of your study and leave if for the next chapters.

Chapter – 2 - Objective or Need of the Study

This chapter will be dedicated to the objective of your study. What is the need and why this study is being made or for which purpose this research is being done should be described in detail in this chapter. This is the crucial chapter of your study and the objectives do not come to the mind easily. Let us explain some of the common objectives which may fit easily in almost every type of thesis and study:

1. A specific problem which needs a solution.

2. No previous study has been made.

3. Study was made but very much time has passed & changes have occurred and it needs a fresh study now.

4. It will lead to the common welfare of the general public or may be helpful for the government agencies for the improvements and the developments for the country.

5. To find out the reasons or the causes why fact(s) about anything were accepted or rejected at a point of time previously or are being accepted or rejected currently.

There may be many other objectives for your study this was just to ignite your minds.

Chapter – 3 - Scope and limitations of this study

This chapter will describe the scope of the study and the limitation which it has. Scope may be further sub divided into the following parts for example:

Regarding Respondents (Their age, caste, only to male or female etc.)

Regarding Area

Regarding brand/product etc.

If we talk about the limitations then the limitations of the study may be due to the time availability and the cost etc.

Chapter – 4 - Review of the literature

If there is any research done or the study was made previously then that data will be useful for the current study. In this chapter you will describe what kind of literature was available and reviewed by you while making or initializing the study. So many books, articles and the other study material can be described in this chapter which was ready by you as the literature. Study of the literature will guide you about the extent of the work which has been done and which is pending to do.

Chapter – 5 – Methodology of the research

Researches are of many types i.e. descriptive, applied & exploratory etc. which kind of research it is and what kind of methodology has been used will be described in this chapter. With the end of this chapter, section -1 of the report also ends. You may have more than 5 chapters and can provide these suitable names, depending upon the type of research but these 5 chapters must be there in any type of research.

Section – 2

As the section -1 was introductory & was providing information about the objective, scope and the methodology of the research, the section – 2 is the main part of the research report. It also contains the different chapters.

Now there are the variations regarding the chapters & their names in this section. There are the different types of researches and different types of workings are required. You may add the following chapters in this section

Chapter – 1 – Data Analysis & Interpretation

Chapter – 2 – Case Studies

Chapter – 3 – Processing data with hypothesis for acceptance and rejection.

As it’s a common problem among the scholars that they do not know how to use the statistical tools to analyse the data so most of them just try to mould the data to prove those facts which are almost known. So you are required not to do and are expecting to make genuine only.

Further, there is a whim among the students who do not know the meaning of hypothesis and assume that the formulation & the existence of hypothesis is a necessary part. So there is an advice for those that if you are not sure that which kind of hypothesis should be there in your report then please do not choose.

Formulation of a hypothesis is not necessary to complete a research report. Each and every report needs not to contain a hypothesis.

Section – 3

This is the last point of research report and contains the following chapters in it.

Chapter – 1 - Summary, Major Findings & Suggestions

This chapter will describe in short, what did you do & found while making the study. You will insert a conclusion at this point. What according to you is the result of your study can be shown in this part. Making a sub part for the major findings you may tell the readers about those things which were unnoticed or has been changed or are new as compare to the old ones. The major findings will be written in the technical language and must be included in this chapter by making a sub part.

Chapter – 2 - Suggestions & Contribution by the study.

You might have found some of the good and the new things which according to you might be improved with the help of the suggestions. Suggestions must be in the non technical manners so that the layman can also understand it.

Contribution of the study towards the progress or to the existing literature can be shown in this chapter by making a sub chapter.

The whole section – 3 should be finished by adding a chapter namely “Scope for the further study.”

Chapter – 3 - Scope for the further study

In this chapter you may describe what were the limitations & the scope of your study and how an enhanced study can be made. For example you may describe in which area the study was made and how the study can be made in the other areas too.

Bibliography – It’s that part of the research report in which you will write the names of those sources which were used during the process of preparation of report & completion of the projects. It will include the names of the books, articles, newspapers and magazines which you used and gone through during the process of your research. The names of websites can also be mentioned here.

Appendix – This must be the last part of the research repot & will include the format & the types of the documents & forms which were used for the collection of the data or some information while making study e.g. questionnaire etc.
